FAQ

WHAT KIND OF STONES ARE MARBLE, TRAVERTINE & GRANITE?
  • Marble stone is metamorphic rock formed from fairly pure calcite crystals in its parent limestone or dolomite rocks that have heated, softened and then crystallized naturally over a long period of time from the immense pressure in the earth's crust. These forces cause the limestone to change in texture and mineral makeup. This process is called recrystallization. Limestone is originally made up of shells and bones of ancient sea creatures that fell to the sea floor millions of years ago. The calcium in the bones & shells combines with the carbon dioxide in water to form calcium carbonate. The fossilized materials in the limestone, along with its original carbonate minerals, recrystallise and form large, coarse grains of calcite, which is the basic mineral structure of all marble. Marble is formed with a medium density and pores.

  • Travertine also began as limestone, which over time - through geological shifting - found its way deep in the earth. The porous nature of limestone derives from small bodies of standing water and rock called Aquifers. This is the water of ice age melting, which sank below and was absorbed by layers of limestone. Because of the earth's hot inner core, the water rises as steam and hot pressurized water that forms hot mud baths. This rising hot water, dissolves the limestone and brings with it a small particle from below, forming mud beds on or near the surface. If enough time passes and the mud beds cool, they will crystallize into a solid stone call travertine. Travertine is formed with a low density and pores.

  • Granite began as liquid magma in the center of the earth. It is a different type of stone, called Igneous. The ingredients that make granite are minerals known as feldspar, quartz, and mica. The major mineral ingredient of granite is feldspar. Due to the extreme pressure within the earth and the absence of atmosphere, granite is formed with a high density and no pores.
WHAT IS THE POLISH ON THE STONE?
  • Our stones are all natural. Apparent polishes on stone are due to a change in the surface of the stone itself, not anything applied to the surface.
WHAT IS THE TRAVERTINE STONE FILLED WITH?
  • The lower the density, the more pores the travertine stone will have. With the stone so natural, our travertine stones are filled with the travertine powder.
WHAT KIND OF WOOD ARE THE PRODUCTS MADE FROM?
  • We are proud to present our Eco-friendly bathroom vanities, which are made of a solid wood structure with CARB Ph2 Certified Plywood & MDF Panels. There is not any particular type of solid wood that we use. It could be any kind that is available at the time of production.
WHAT ARE THE COLORS OF YOUR PRODUCTS?
  • Every piece is hand-crafted and hand-painted. However, each piece is unique and they vary in color.
CAN I PLACE A SPECIAL ORDER ON A PRODUCT?
  • All of our products come as is, we do not process any special orders or place special orders.
CAN I CHANGE THE COUNTER TOP OPTIONS OF THE VANITY?
  • The products come as is. Not all vanities are available in the four counter top options. Some or our high quality vanities will come in all four counter top options while, other vanities may be available in only one or two counter top options.
ARE FAUCETS INCLUDED WITH THE VANITY?
  • Since there are a variety of faucets in styles and sizes, faucets are not included. They are sold separately in a range of prices.
CAN STONE, GLASS OR CERAMIC VESSELS BE PLACED INTO A VANITY WITH AN UNDER MOUNT?
  • The Stone, Glass, and Ceramic Vessels can only be placed onto a vanity via top mount.
ARE THE STONES SEALED?
  • Our stones are not sealed. Therefore, please be sure to seal all stone products (counter tops, vessel sinks, etc) before installation to avoid any dirt or stain from getting into the stone.
WHAT IS DISTRESSED CABINET DESIGN OR DISTRESSED STYLE?
  • Distressed cabinet design is a style of wood treatment that gives many of our pieces a more antique or weathered look. Some people may confuse this design style with defects or imperfections in the cabinet itself, however, most pits, grooves or knotty wood areas in the cabinet are part of our distressed design style and totally natural.
